Rory Is a Bad Bad Man

CBS - It's a bad week for fans of Rory McIlroy's rivals. McIlroy was in "you guys are still talking about Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler too much" mode on Saturday at Quail Hollow as he took the Wells Fargo Championship by the throat with a course record 61.
The 61 broke the old course record of 62 which McIlroy also held after shooting it in the final round to win the 2010 Wells Fargo Championship.
McIlroy was absolutely locked in down the stretch, even making us believe 59 was in play for a while. He went out in 31 and birdied six of the first seven on the back side with shots like these.

"I feel like the best player in the world and I wanted to go out there and prove that." -Rory McIlroy

Rory is quickly starting to enter the zone of an athlete that simply hates when the public questions who is in fact the best at ones craft. He has simply played his best when the public starts getting infatuated with other players (Spieth and Fowler). The kid just turned 26 and is primed to take golf to a whole new stratosphere because of his mental state. He can also thank Tiger on a blueprint on how not to fuck up everything.

Breaking your own course record on a course that is in another country that's 4,000 miles away from your homeland is absurd.

"I was thinking 59 from the 14th tee box." -Rory McIlroy

Tiger is still dead. Getting dumped and crying about it is a tough look. He has the mental strength of sixth grade kid at his first dance. He somehow has skated by controversy of getting caught with a "Pro" after claiming he was "hurt" and pulling out of the Farmers Open here in SD. No one connecting the dots on that one reeks of Nike quieting a story.

P.S. "Pro" = Prostitute

P.P.S.  Someone get in Fowler's kitchen and cool his jets with this whole "Love" thing with his girl. Play the field buddy. Got plenty of time for a girlfriend when you hit your late 30's.

Who You Got? Harpers Hair vs Harpers Bat

Vs.

Big time debate in Section 110 last night during the ballgame at Petco Park. A vicious debate of what was more electric. Harper's Flow or Swing. No wrong answers here folks. Both make men and women swoon. I respect the hell out of a good head of hair just as much as a pure lefty swing.

P.S.  His one batting glove move/look is officially Hardo city.

P.P.S.  My 8 month preggo wife has more range than the Padres defense up the middle. Woof.

I would be remissed to not give Espinosa his due for this fire look. Espinosa came out of no where to steal the show last night with this gem…

Who You Got? Scarier Crew...'

VS.

Whitewalkers vs Brady's Lawyer crew. Scarier crew to welcome into your kitchen. I gotta go with the Brady lawyer crew. They are coming in hot and fast. The God Damn Whitewalkers are walking as slow as can be and I have been waiting 4 years to see them kill some people south of the wall.

P.S.  Patriots create a website to rip apart the Wells report has officially made this a full on gutter war and I CANNOT wait to see the carnage that this produces. Here is the website…  http://wellsreportcontext.com

Quick Rundown with DC Kevin

Quick 30 Minute Rundown with DC Kevin hitting on a couple Hot topics. Admittedly probably not a good idea doing these on work nights where I'm clearly drained of energy. But, Warriors fight and that's what we did here.

We will be getting back to shooting on weekends only when we aren't sober.

Padres Stink

SEATTLE (AP) — This is not the home run category the San Diego Padres expected to find themselves leading early in the season.
Thirty-four games played, and after Seattle's long ball display on Tuesday night, no team in baseball has allowed more homers than the Padres.
"Most homers are pitches up over the plate or you're behind in the count and you challenge some hitters with some fastballs," San Diego manager Bud Black said. "I think we've been in too many bad counts and (had) too many fastballs or breaking balls out up over the plate."

Padres stink right now and its almost official panic time on Park Blvd. July 31st will be here fast and this team needs to find its groove ASAP or a garage sale is on its way. The Padres were assembled like a fantasy team. Fantasy teams don't have to play defense or strategic fundamental baseball.
The AJ Preller slobber job was in full effect prior to any pitches being thrown this year. I sure hope those "Rockstar GM" shirts aren't being produced on a recurring basis. The facts are he dumped a good portion of talent from the farm and gave up solid upcoming picks in the draft for this average squad in 2015. Can't imagine the owners are pumped with the Kimbrel/Melvin Upton trade with the salary they acquired in that move.
The Padres will be in a real rough spot come late July if they continue this trend because its this year or nothing with the Justin Upton Asset. He will bring a haul of prospects if he continues his pace this year but will upset the fan base in terms of having blue balls with a real prime star in the roster being dealt like always.
Bud Black needs to keep his head on a swivel right now. If the team gets punked by the Nationals at home this weekend he might have a lot of free time on his hands to do TV for the remainder of the season.
P.S.  I would KILL to have 1 interview question for Ron Fowler.
Question:  How much puke is gets splattered all over your office when you see Melvin Uptons Bi weekly Checks?
P.P.S.  This team without Justin Upton will be AWFUL.

Hey Mike - Have a Creepier smile. You Can't.
Hey Wayne P - Stealing the show in that salmon shirt like a boss.

Quick Update -  Apparently this blog ruffled some feathers down on Park Blvd. LOVE IT.

Chargers Draft Grade: D+

NFL.com- Trading away multiple draft picks for a modest bump up in the first round didn't sit well with Fischer, who argues that San Diego could have found a feature back in the middle rounds. He was also turned off by Mager's value in Round 3:

NFL.com - Gordon is a top-tier running back and fills a huge void for the Chargers. That part of the equation made sense. Trading a fourth- and fifth-round pick to move up two spots was questionable, even with talk of the Houston Texans having interest in Gordon at pick No. 16. Plus, there were a number of good options they could have grabbed on Day 2. It's tough to argue against Gordon in powder blue, but the price was a little steep.
Mager can develop into a quality corner, but he's very raw, and it might be a while before he pans out -- a big reach in the third.

This draft will go down as the one that Chargers ownership points to when they relieve Tom Telesco of his position of GM next year while they move to LA. My boy Tommy got bluffed out of his shoes to move up a slot to pick up a RB in the first round. To compound the matter Tommy went on local radio and stated multiple times that trading a 4th rd pick wasn't a big deal because he has never "hit" on one before. Love that logic. The team has a TON of holes and giving up a pick in a draft where you only have 5 picks is ungodly dumb. Admitting that you stink at drafting after the third round is equivalent a bold proclamation when that is a major job function of an average NFL GM.

I like Melvin Gordon as a RB but I don't like using a first round pick on an asset that you want to use like a tire to replace after 3-4 years that will get hit on average 20-35 per game. The team was in desperate need for a Defensive tackle or an offensive lineman. Chargers could have stayed pat and used that 4th round pick on a serviceable running back.

I hope for the Chargers fan sake that the 2nd rd pick, Denzell Perryman, becomes a productive contributor to the team because the linebacker core needs guys with football instincts on it. You have to pray his instincts outweigh the fact that he is relatively tiny for his position.
Every other pick is destined for special teams at best. When will the Chargers pick up on the fact that you need to stockpile picks to give yourself a better shot of adding cheap young talent to the roster. Team seems more than happy shooting itself in the foot every year and wondering why they limp to .500 seasons.

P.S.  Having the Chargers owners son as E.V.P. of Football operations is crazy smart. No conflict of interest there at all.

Deflategate

CNN- The NFL has suspended New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady for four games without pay in relation to the "Deflategate" incident in which the team was found to have used underinflated footballs for an advantage in the playoffs.
Brady's agent blasted the punishment and promised to appeal the decision.
The Patriots were also fined $1 million and will forfeit its first-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft and fourth-round pick in the 2017 draft, the league announced Monday.

The people have waited long enough for my official take on Deflategate. The people shall wait no more. The whole situation is so blown of control that even the commissioner knows he has lost control. Dropping a hammer suspension and then going into hiding is Goodell's move and its sad.

The league suspension is ABSURD. Considering in the by laws the act that the Patriots have been deem probable of committing states a 20k fine. Same as our hometown Chargers did a few years back. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-11-07/sports/sns-rt-us-nfl-chargers-finebre8a705v-20121107_1_towels-san-diego-chargers-nfl
The suspension is based on the Patriots being an arrogant organization that is uber successful. Goodell obviously felt pressured to do something dramatic to appease the majority of the NFL population that clearly isn't in love with the Patriots. But, even reasonable people think Goodell again blew it and has nailed himself in a coffin with this outrageous sanction.

It's is beyond obvious why the Wells report took over 4 months to complete. They never had concrete evidence and they knew the report would look shaky unless they piled a 243 page report that that concludes with probables of an infraction. The NFL bungled the whole operation from the word go and have been meeting for months on how to properly leak and report info to make them look less bad.

My official take on what actually happened. It's obvious Brady likes the ball towards the lower end of the PSI spectrum. The Balls boys obviously prep the balls to the QB desired specifics. The ball boys just did a shitty job of getting the balls low and rushed after pre game warm ups to get the balls down to the 12.5 or whatever Brady wanted them at. The two guys that were in charge of this "operation" aren't exactly M.I.T. bound.

Also, if you think the rest of the league doesn't prep their balls for their QB you are flat out retarded. Pretty weird how quiet every starting QB has been about this topic of prepping the game balls. I bet there are a few QB's out there that are not very happy that their will be more eyes on every game ball moving forward.

All in all I am actually VERY happy this all happened. In the end the suspension will be brought down to 2 or 1 game bc they will protest the suspension and it will be impossible for a independent consultant to uphold a penalty based on probability with the only comparable cases resulting in minor financial fines. The Patriots will end up rallying around this and decapitate the league(If they can figure out who exactly is actually playing the cornerback position for them this year). They will be right back in the AFC championship game in a quick few months with another opportunity to bring home another title. This might actually make the regular season interesting for the first time one a long time for Patriot fans.

P.S.  The 4th round pick being included in this discipline was by far the funniest about the sanctions. It came completely out of left field and proves Goodell has no clue on how to properly penalize teams. I picture him sitting in his office throwing darts at a suspension board and praying it makes sense.

P.S.S.  Having bounty gate being a fine of 500k for concrete evidence of audio recordings of coaches incentivizing players to injure your opponent while fining the Patriots Double (1 million dollars) for half a pound of PSI in a football is scary dumb.
