UT SAN DIEGO -
After months of speculation, the AHL Board of Governors voted Sunday to approve a new Pacific Division that will begin play in California for the 2015-16 season, the Virginian Pilot reported Monday, citing unnamed sources.
As a result, San Diego will once again have a professional hockey team.
As part of the AHL's western expansion, the Anaheim Ducks will purchase their AHL affiliate Norfolk Admirals, and move the team to San Diego this fall.
I am ALL IN on the AHL coming to town. Huge fan of live hockey and even bigger fan on minor league sports. Hope the Gulls management pulls out a bag full of circus tricks to win over the town.
I have already bought my season tickets and cannot wait to tailgate with Phils BBQ and some adult sodas. Also being in the mecca of strip clubs in SD is not a bad way to celebrate a win.
P.S. Above strip club reference could be a huge disaster with young foreign hockey guys that have a nice little signing bonus check.
P.S. These jerseys are absolute Fire.
